"Tavana sporting gun stocks" was established in 1968 by the young Tavana Andrea Sergio who worked impetuously for his project.
After his untimely death in 1977 and until nowadays the factory is managed by the Tavana's family with success also thanks to the Tavana's highly skilled employees. The company's growth was supported with his present new building in Marcheno Val Trompia.
As quality requirements changed, the firm organized production more rationally with the installation of automatic quick-tooling-change work centers, which enabled the company to increase output and guarantee top quality and accuracy at the same time. The entire process is performed inside the factory and a special care is dedicated to the finishing of the high quality gun stocks made by Tavana.
New dynamic programming methods have been adopted but without abandoning the costly traditional wood preparation techniques that are of fundamental importance in the determing quality.
The freshly cut wood is sprayed with a product to preserve and protect it from wood-eating insects and mould.
The timber is seasoned out of doors for just the right length of time and then vacuum dried in a tunnel so the final product has the required stability.
With his production capability and technology Tavana is now in the position of being the main supplier of leading sporting guns manufacturers.
